The Art & Science of Learning from Data
Teach or learn statistics with the Art of Stat Mobile App, Web Apps, or Textbook.

Mobile App
Get the Art of Stat app for iOS or Android, featuring eight modules, including Explore Data, Distributions, Inference, Regression, Resampling, and Machine Learning. The ultimate mobile statistical calculator.

Web Apps
Interactive web apps for teaching and learning statistics, with example datasets preloaded, but you can also upload your own CSV file. Recreate any analysis from the textbook.

Datasets
CSV files from examples, exercises, and activities, organized by chapter.

R Code
Annotated R that replicates the analyses in the book, in base R and the tidyverse.
Bernhard Klingenberg
Bernhard Klingenberg is a Professor of Statistics, teaching courses in Introductory Statistics, Statistical Modeling, Data Visualization and Mathematical Statistics. He is the developer and programmer of the Art of Stat mobile and web apps featured on this site, which are a great way of teaching and learning statistics.
Bernhard's major research interest is in Categorical Data Analysis. He has published articles in journals such as Biometrics (on analyzing multivariate binary data), Statistics in Medicine (on dose-response models and on simultaneous confidence intervals), Computational Statistics & Data Analysis (on binary time series) or the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B (on analyzing adverse events data). His method to construct a confidence interval for the difference of proportions in stratified 2x2 contingency tables has been implemented in SAS software's proc freq.
Bernhard has taught at Williams College for twenty years, and is now the director of the graduate program in Applied Data Science at New College Florida.
